Magic Community: Meet Dylan

The Community Magic series is Milton Magic FC’s way of recognizing the incredible individuals who make our club more than just a soccer program—it’s a true community. From dedicated volunteers and passionate coaches to supportive families and inspiring local leaders, these stories showcase the people who bring energy, commitment, and heart to our club.
Through Community Magic, we aim to celebrate the spirit of teamwork, dedication, and support that defines our club on and off the field.
Dylan was diagnosed at the age of 9 with Type One Diabetes, an autoimmune disease that prevents his pancreas from making insulin. While it was an unexpected diagnosis, we knew we weren’t going to let this prevent Dylan from living a full and joyful life which included playing his favourite sport soccer.
With Dylan on the pitch 4 days a week playing the sport he loves, he needs to take steps to ensure he plays at his best while remaining safe. That could mean a snack to keep his glucose levels up or a quick sip of juice to stop a dropping blood sugar. Dylan needs to be aware of his blood sugar at all times so he wears a continuous glucose monitor 24/7 to make sure he’s always in a safe range. With all these obstacles, he continues to flourish and refuses to let Type One Diabetes get in his way of bringing his best self to the game he loves every single day
